Dayna Stanislaus Lawson is a proud Tiwi woman dedicated to strengthening community, celebrating culture, and creating spaces where Blak voices can be heard and uplifted. As Operations Manager at Blak & Bright, she supports the festival’s creative vision by coordinating events, fostering meaningful partnerships, and ensuring that First Nations stories are shared with care and integrity.

Dayna’s experience spans cultural, educational, and community sectors, including her work with the Koorie Heritage Trust and Weenthunga Health Network. Her projects have focused on cultural safety, anti-racism, and wellbeing, from developing frameworks for inclusive workshops to contributing writing that highlights the importance of representation and self-determination.

Currently completing a Bachelor of Arts (Extended) at the University of Melbourne, Dayna continues to explore how leadership and storytelling can drive connection and change. She brings a deep sense of responsibility and pride to her work, guided by values of respect, collaboration, and cultural strength. Through her role at Blak & Bright, Dayna is committed to supporting Blak artists and communities to share their stories, celebrate identity, and inspire future generations.
